Repairing technologies, fixing society – REPAIR project

What if finding out how objects are maintained, repaired or disposed of could provide us with crucial information about the historical and political contexts that fostered the emergence of consumption habits, about the hidden societal and environmental dimensions of repair, and about how we might shift towards more sustainable consumption? That’s the aim of the REPAIR project.

Historical pavilion in Esch-sur-Alzette – REMIX project (Remixing Industrial Pasts in the Digital Age)

The historical pavilion project was part of the programme of events organised for “Esch2022 – European Capital of Culture”. The idea was to explore the memories of inhabitants of the “Minett” region, to look back at their former living and working conditions and gauge their perceptions of how the region has changed from the Second World War to the present day. It was a chance to travel back in time to Luxembourg’s industrial heyday!
